Born in Wilmington, N.C, Von Allen, study the New York School of Abstract Expressionist artists of the 40's and 50's such as Hans Hofmann, Janet Sobel, (Janet Sobel, is consider to be the Grandmother of drip painting), Mark Tobey and Jackson Pollock.

With his style of painting, the art world has deem Von Allen, the next Jackson Pollock, of our time for the revolutionary technique of gestural painting that freed generations of American artists from academic strictures.

Von Allen, place his canvas on the floor which gives him room to paint in a rhythmic motion around the canvas. He uses enamel, acrylic and metallic paint. And then applies the paint with a unique technique with such energetic motion so that his work exuded physical and mystical energy.
